How to prepare tasty Egg Fried Rice

Lovely Recipe for Tasty Egg Fried Rice 

 Egg fried rice is a highly flexible and enjoyable dish that might serve as the main meal or as an accompaniment. It is easy to prepare and allows one to explore countless variations based on personal preferences and what ingredients are available. This simple but appealing recipe can be easily tailored to suit your taste buds. 

 Ingredients: 

3 cups of cooked rice (preferably refrigerated) 

Three eggs 

1 cup mixed vegetables (e.g., peas, carrots, corn) 

Two minced cloves of garlic 

Two green onions, chopped 

Two tablespoons of soy sauce 

1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional) 

1 tsp sesame oil 

Salt and pepper to taste 

Cooking oil 

 Instructions: 

Cook the Rice:

If you don’t have leftover rice, cook it according to package instructions and let it cool completely. Chilled rice works best for fried rice as it holds the texture better. 

 Scramble the Eggs: 

  1. In a small bowl, beat the eggs with salt and pepper. 
  2. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium heat and add oil. 
  3. Pour in the beaten eggs and scramble until they are cooked through but still moist. 
  4. Remove the eggs from the skillet and set aside. 

 Stir-Fry Vegetables:

Add more oil if needed and stir-fry the garlic until fragrant. Add the mixed veggies and cook until tender but still crisp, about 3-4 minutes. 

 Combine Rice and Vegetables

  1. Increase heat to medium-high. 
  2. Add the chilled cooked rice to the skillet and break up clumps with a spatula or wooden spoon. 
  3. Stir-fry for a few minutes until rice is heated through and lightly browned. 

 Add Sauces:

Drizzle the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using) over the rice. Stir well to combine and distribute the sauces evenly. This is where the flavor and color come in. 

 Add Eggs and Green Onions:

Add the scrambled eggs back to the skillet with the rice and veggies. Stir-fry for another minute or two until everything is well mixed and heated. 

 Finish with Sesame Oil:

Remove from heat and drizzle with sesame oil. Sesame oil adds a nutty flavor. 

 Serve:

Serve on plates or bowls. Garnish with green onions. Enjoy! 

Variations:

Add protein like cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu. Add or change veggies to your liking, or add spices and herbs for more depth.
